Autodesk Civil 3D So Craig's would install correctly and mine and others would fail. Looks like Error indicates a missing file, in this case RealDwg folder full of files is missing. Ok as of this morning I finally got SSA to install.
Now the question is How? It's hit and miss. Next on their list is to figure out why and Craig and Michael are on the case. So this problem has nothing to do with RealDWG years or anything else, as far as I can tell it's a DLL that just fails to register during install which causes the issue then rolls back the entire install.
With the new MSI I was given I have a successfull install, and I was able to also install the object enabler that goes with the program seperatly and then go back into the overall Civil 3D install and finally install subassembly composer. So now they just have to reproduce the issue on their end and find a fix. This leads be to a conclusion that something is conflicting either in how Windows 10 is installed, the UAC or Permission settings, or a conflicting prior version of RealDWG.
There needs to be something else in common in these failures. Thanks for correcting your post Chris - I would suggest avoiding installing SSA in a stand-alone manner. It should always be installed using the Civil 3D installer.
I initially had to override 2 DLLs, get one of them to register during the install process once the install errored out without selecting OK on the error.
Once that occurred then the program fully installed. SSA are existing. That machine also has SSA installed. How up to date with Windows Updates are you on that Win10 machine?
